Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026 · KaiCleaner is built so your files stay on your Mac.
Summary
KaiCleaner scans and cleans on your device only. We do not upload your files, caches, filenames, or system metrics to our servers. There is no cloud AI, no analytics SDK, and no account required to use the app.
What KaiCleaner accesses
- Your home folder — caches, logs, Downloads, and similar locations you choose to clean.
- Optional Full Disk Access — only if you enable it in Settings, adds shared
/Library/Cachesand/Library/Logs. Never touches/System, other users, or app bundles. - LaunchAgents / LaunchDaemons — read-only review for the Launch Item Review feature. Nothing is removed automatically.
- System metrics — storage, memory, CPU, and battery are read locally to show the Dashboard. Not transmitted.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share personal data.
- We do not permanently delete files during normal cleaning — items go to the Trash unless you explicitly use Permanent Delete on files you pick yourself.
- We do not run cleaning automatically in the background without your review (scheduled scans only notify you).
Data stored on your Mac
- Cleanup History — log of what was moved to Trash, stored locally on your Mac.
- Storage trends — folder size snapshots stored locally for the 30-day chart.
- Trusted launch items — paths you mark as safe, stored in app preferences.
- Settings — safe mode, scan schedule, and update preferences via standard macOS UserDefaults.
Updates & website
KaiCleaner checks kaicleaner.kainoter.com for signed updates via Sparkle. Downloading the DMG from our website is a direct HTTPS connection — we do not receive your file list or scan results from that download.
Children
KaiCleaner is a general-purpose Mac utility not directed at children under 13.
